IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TILES
Each piece of handcrafted tile is unique, showing variation in size, color and thickness. Surfaces of handmade tiles are rarely flat and are sometimes misshapen.  However, after installation, handcrafted tiles will blend in with each other to form a harmonious end result.

Imagination and Opaco series from Talavera USA are recommended to be used bathroom walls and floors, as well as kitchen counter tops.  However, it should be remembered  that handmade tiles are more susceptible to chipping, and dark shiny tiles tend to show scratches.  Also, colors such as Copper Green and Azul Cobalto may not be acid-proof and when in doubt must not be used in areas that may come in contact with acids such as fruit juices or cleaners containing acids. Our handcrafted tiles are not frost proof, or for use in pools and fountains.

Decorative Talavera tiles are painted by hand and individual pieces are different from each other.  Different batches usually show differences in size, shape and color giving Talavera tiles their individuality. We suggest that the customer orders a sample before ordering larger quantities of the material.

Crackling and crazing are common and are inherent characteristics of many handcrafted tiles. Crazing and crackling are the result of expansion and contraction of the bisque, which normally occurs with changes in humidity and temperature.  Both crazing and crackling may occur after installation.
